HOW MANY DOGS DID WE RESCUE THIS WEEK?

THE DOGS OF BALI

THIS WEEK'S RESCUE UPDATES

Asmara's Story:

We received a report of this starving dog on the road & as soon as I saw it, I knew we were his only hope.

Asmara was in a village many hours away without proper veterinary clinics. The woman reporting him to us said she fed him for the past two days driving 40 minutes each way, but this was a large expense for her and bringing him to the vet wouldn't be feasible. We were so grateful that she reached out and was caring for him. I hired a dog catcher and rescuer who drove 3 hours to the location and searched for hours in the rain with her.

Eventually, little Asmara was found in a storm gutter shivering and terrified. They asked to name him Asmara meaning Romance

What was his diagnosis?
Asmara went straight to the vet and he is extremely emaciated and malnourished. He went in for an X-ray and we learned that Asmara's femur is broken and requires a complicated surgery. They estimate that he has
been in pain and suffering with this injury for weeks on the streets at only 3 months old.

How much was his veterinary bill?
The vet bills are still running, but his
surgery alone will be 4.8 million IDR,
and already 2.5 million in initial care
+ treatment. This is close to $500 USD.

How can you help?
Asmara still needs a long term foster home or even better an adopter!
If you are in a position to help financially that would be such a life saver. It's possible to donate directly to his vet- Bali Central Vet under
"Asmara" or donate via our PayPal.

AND MORE RESCUES…

NOT ONLY WAS ASMARA RESCUED BUT ALSO FOUR LITTLE PUPPIES DUMPED ON THE ROAD IN A GUTTER!

We recently received a report of four abandoned puppies. While we didn't have the room nor the funds, we couldn't leave them there. We made a plan for the puppies and a lovely neighbor brought the black puppy to the vet as he had a wound on his head. It appears that he was slashed with a knife and also isn't even from the same litter as the other three!! He was dumped a day later in the exact same spot. He appeared weaker and needed treatment so an x ray was done at the vet. The good news is he wasn't weaker... there was fear that he had a mass in his belly, but he didn't have any tumor or even have worms, but he was just full of food! Grateful that he's okay and is now healing in the vet. The other three were all picked up and brought to safety receiving treatment until we are able to transport them to a center next week!
